Tula started as an idea long before it became a beer.

Back in 2011, John Halewood, the founder of Halewood International, saw something others didn’t. After the success of Crabbie’s Ginger Beer and years spent shaping the RTD category, he believed there was room for something new, a way to bring together great beer with great flavour.

He never got the chance to bring that idea to life. But it never really went away...

Years later, with a growing appreciation for beer and a close up view of how Halewood Artisanal Spirits helped redefine flavoured spirits, that idea felt more relevant than ever.

Adam, John's son, then spent two years living in Australia, where the drinking culture is different. Cans dominate. It is mostly beer or fruit seltzers, but he could never quite find something that sat in between the two.

That gap stayed with Adam.

The opportunity was simple: take the craftsmanship of Hawkshead Brewery and the credibility of great beer, and combine it with the accessibility and creativity of flavour led drinks.

Tula Beers is where those two worlds come together.

It is built on the belief that beer can be both high quality and easy to drink. That flavour should complement, not overpower. And that the best drinks are the ones that bring people together, without rules or expectations.

More than anything, Tula is about carrying something forward.
